On Sunday, September 13, 2026, Europa-Park hosted its traditional Alsace Day. Around 100 guests from Alsace and Baden-Württemberg came together to celebrate the close ties between France and Germany and strengthen relations between the two regions.

The event was opened by Michael Mack, Honorary Consul of France in Freiburg im Breisgau, who welcomed the guests in Europa-Park’s French-themed area. Among the distinguished guests were Caroline Krajka, the new Consul General of France in Stuttgart, Nathalie Kaltenbach, President of Alsace Destination Tourisme, and Member of Parliament Raphaël Schellenberger.

The French-themed area offered a varied programme throughout the day. Numerous partners from Alsace presented their culinary and cultural offerings, giving guests an authentic taste of Alsace. Various traditional costume and folklore groups also contributed to the festive atmosphere with traditional dances.

The official programme also reflected the close ties between Alsace and Europa-Park. Philippe Meyer, First Vice-President of the Public Office for the Regional Language of Alsace (OPLA), and Kévin Diebold, Mayor of Erstein, addressed the guests.

One of the highlights of the day was the unveiling and official presentation of a replica of the Eiffel Tower to Europa-Park by the City of Erstein. The replica, built to a scale of 1:46 by Frédéric Fender, a member of the technical services team of the City of Erstein, was unveiled to the accompaniment of a musical performance by Romy Kirsch and Robin Leon, who performed a duet in the background during the ceremony.

To conclude the day, guests attended a screening of SNORRI 4D – Catch Me If You Candy at the Magic Cinema 4D, in the presence of French director Thierry Marchand, who was nominated for an Oscar for his short film Oktapodi.

Once again, Alsace Day provided a wonderful opportunity to strengthen cultural and personal ties across the border and celebrate Franco-German friendship together.
