Michael Mack sends a strong signal for cultural exchange and young people’s enthusiasm for France through the signing of the Declaration of Rust.

On 23 June 2026, Europa-Park was all about music, encounters, and European friendship. As part of the Euro-Musique Festival, Michael Mack, Honorary Consul of the French Republic, signed the “Declaration of Rust” together with Minister of Education Andreas Jung and the French Consul General Gaël de Maisonneuve. The initiative aims to further strengthen Franco-German friendship and, in particular, inspire young people’s enthusiasm for France. Under the motto “Fête de la Musique – Mir feiern zämme”, the Fête de la Musique is to be established across Baden-Württemberg as an open festival of encounters in nurseries, kindergartens, and schools. Michael Mack emphasized the special importance of personal encounters, cultural exchange, and music as a universal language connecting people.

The Euro-Musique Festival is organized by the Landesmusikjugend Baden-Württemberg, Europa-Park, and the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport of Baden-Württemberg in cooperation with the Centre for School Quality and Teacher Training. This year, more than 2,000 young musicians from Germany and France gathered at Europa-Park. The link with the Fête de la Musique particularly highlighted the idea of encounter, cultural exchange, and shared celebration across borders.
